The Modern Design of the Banyan Treehouse

This 172 sf treehouse is located in Nichols Canyon, Los Angeles, California. The house perched atop steel pylons that abstractly emulate natural branches. The design respects to the pre-existing tree and it results in literally shaping itself around the contours of the trunk. The relation between the indoor and outdoor is provided by a single glass that cut out in the floor reconnects the tree house inhabitant to the tree itself. The Rockefeller Partners Architects have designed this natural Banyan Treehouse.
